American Civil Liberties Union – Advocates applying the U.S. Constitution to ensure, social justice, freedom of speech, separation of church and state, and other rights.

Amnesty International – International human rights organization with a focus on political prisoners.

Blacksburg Ministerial Association

Blacksburg Refugee Partnership – Assists refugees with settling in Blacksburg.

Coalition for Justice (Blacksburg) – Local organization active on a range of social social justice issues.

Dialog on Race – Local organization that facilitates relations between racial groups.

Fellowship of Reconciliation – National organization “Working for peace & justice through nonviolence since 1915.”

Friends of the Earth – National organization for environmental education and action.

Interfaith Food Pantry – Local organization that collects and distributes food for low income households.

Montgomery County Christmas Store – Provides Christmas gifts for low income families.

Montgomery County Emergency Assistance Program – Provides emergency assistance for low income households.

NAACP of Montgomery County — Radford City — Floyd County – Engages in many regional community service programs.

New River Community Action – Offers programs “To promote and support the well-being and self-reliance of individuals, families, and communities.”

Ngeta Foundation – “Provides financial support for the Mordeliza Academy,” an elementary school in rural Kenya.

One Virginia 2021 – Advocates non-partisan redistricting following the 2020 census.

Platform (London) – “Art, activism, education, research” on fossil fuel extraction and delivery. Includes research into the distribution of Virginia’s coal.

Plowshare Peace and Justice Center (Plowshares) – Regional program advocating non-violent action for social justice.

The Sentencing Project (Washington, D.C.) – National organization that advocates fair sentencing and alternatives to incarceration.

Tshampa Foundation – “A nonprofit organization based in Virginia, USA dedicated to social, educational, and religious services to the people of Mustang, Nepal.”

Virginia Cares (Virginia Community Re-Entry System) – Assists newly released convicts with the return to civilian life.

Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy – Organization that lobbies the Virginia legislature on social justice legislation.

Women’s Resource Center of the New River Valley – “Help end sexual and domestic violence in the New River Valley.”
